‘With her infectious sound and stunning looks, Dua is set to take the world by storm’ – V Magazine
Born and raised in London, Dua moved to her parents’ homeland of Kosovo aged 11, before persuading them to let her return to Britain at 15 to pursue her musical ambitions. The bold move paid off, as Dua Lipa is now tipped to become music’s next big thing, having exploded onto the music scene in 2015 with her debut single “Be the One” which has amassed over 108 million views on youtube.
Her rich and resonate voice, often described as “dark pop” has seen Dua win “Best New Artist” at the NME Awards and a nomination at the Brits for the “Critics Choice Award”, all before the release of her debut album.
Her striking sense of style and sultry looks have not gone unnoticed by the fashion world, shooting for British Vogue, ELLE, i-D, Dazed, Harper’s and V Magazine, shot by Mario Testino. Dua made her NY fashion week debut sitting front row at the SS17 Alexander Wang show and can currently be seen on billboards as the face of MAC’s Future Forward campaign, following in the footsteps of Lorde and Tinashe.
In early 2017, Dua earned the distinction of having three simultaneously charting singles in the U.K. Top 15 with “Be the One,” “Scared to Be Lonely” with Martin Garrix, and “No Lie” with Sean Paul. Dua recently performed in the US on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and The Today Show. She will spend the remainder of 2017 touring with Bruno Mars.
On June 2, 2017, Dua released her debut, self-titled Album. Upon its release, her album soared to the top of the charts, reaching #1 on Itunes in the UK and reaching top 10 on Itunes in 39 countries.
